The performance of the “Ballet of Ballets” “Swan Lake” to the genius music of P. And. Tchaikovsky and directed by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov will give the fans of fine art unforgettable moments of contemplation of the beautiful production, marked with the characteristics of the highest class in ballet art – of November 8, Friday, from 19:00 in the hall of the State Opera – Burgas.
The prima ballerina of the Burgas Opera plays the main roles of Odette/Odilia and Prince Siegfried Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova And Teodor Tsakovsoloist of the troupe and winner of this year’s award of the Municipality of Burgas on the occasion of May 24 – on the occasion of the wonderful performance in the national tour in nine Bulgarian cities in the role of Siegfried in “Swan Lake”, in a wonderful stage tandem with prima ballerina Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova.
The two superb performers will perform for the first time in the leading roles in the most famous ballet on the Burgas stage. Performances of “Swan Lake” with the same cast are coming up on November 25 – in the city of Troyan, and on November 26 – in the city of Pleven.
At the end of 2023 and early 2024. the extremely successful tour of “Swan Lake” passed in nine Bulgarian cities, and the artists of the ballet troupe of the Burgas Opera were welcomed and sent off with unceasing ovations from the full halls.
The remarkable spectacle, the bearer of the best of the classical ballet traditions – staged, directed and choreographed by prof. Hikmet Mehmedov /after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov/, was presented to was presented on August 19, t. year in the Summer Theater of Burgas and caused stormy emotional reactions from the international audience.

Spectators will be convinced – once again, that the production of Prof. Mehmedov is an aesthetic jewel that contains the entire spectrum of the characteristics of the best of classical ballet art – conceptual completeness, emotional depth, philosophical references, large-scale thinking and a synchronous combination of all elements – in the ultimate stage realization.
Assistant director of the magnificent production is the prima ballerina Vesa Tonovaa tutor of the “Swan Lake” ballet ensemble Galina Kalcheva, long-time prima ballerina of the Burgas Opera, who was the troupe’s tutor for the successful national tour with the Swan Lake troupe, as well as the Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty tours; is an assistant director Peter Tikholov.
The exquisite costumes are the result of the late woman’s creative flair Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynovawho took care of the hand-attachment of each Swarovski stone to the ballet dancers’ aesthetically pleasing stage costumes. The impressive set design, transporting the audience to the opulent royal court and the mystical lakeside scenes, is the work of the acclaimed master of set design Ivan Tokadzhiev.
It is not by chance “Swan Lake” by Prof. Mehmedov is considered the most beautiful production of the immortal ballet classic on the native stage. The main color of the decor is blue – in different shades.
Multimedia is also used in some of the scenes, which is an additional emotional and meaningful element of the overall suggestion.
Beautiful and irresistible in their quest to sculpt memorable images of Odette/Odilia and Siegfried will be the two wonderful soloists – Daniela Turtumanova-Stoyanova and Teodor Tsakov, who deserved the standing ovation in full halls in the national tour not in nine Bulgarian cities at the end of 2023. and the beginning of 2024: Shumen, Razgrad, Dobrich, Sliven, Haskovo, Vratsa, Blagoevgrad, Pernik and Botevgrad. They were completely merged into a stage unity, recreating the beautiful dramatic story with a happy ending.
In the characteristic role – ultra-dynamic and emotional, whirlwind and technically impeccable, the premier ballet dancer of the State Opera – Burgas enters Daniel Tichkov.
The image of the evil sorcerer Rothbart, who cursed Odette and her friends with a cruel punishment to turn into the noble and beautiful birds during the day, and only after sunset they take human form again, is presented by the soloist of the ballet troupe at the State Opera – Burgas Kiril Filipov.
The role of the Queen, Siegfried’s mother, will be played by Anelia Ivanova, which presents the image with its characteristic dignity and aristocracy.
The large-scale performance also takes part in: Little Swans: Rafaela-Maria Kuhl, Nanako Sato. Julia Letsi and Andreya Sotirova; Big swans – Laya Ramon, Yana Berduta, Ilina Konstantinova, Gergana Kozarova. In the temperamental Spanish dance the audience at the Opera House on Friday will see: Alex Arabska and Haru NakagawaV Neapolitan dance – Ilina Konstantinova and Patrick GillV Hungarian dance – Ivana Fialkovska, Giulia Leci, Francesco Pio Russo and Sean Kalafune. Like the exquisite ones Brides on stage are: Nanako Sato, Rafaela-Maria Kuhl, Gergana Kozarova and Polina Pasha. In Waltz in I couples will take part in the action: Laya Ramon – Haru Nakagawa, Gergana Kozarova – Stoyan Furtunov, Yana Berduta – Patrick Gill and Kalina Nedelcheva – Francesco Pio Russo, as well as: Nanako Sato, Ivana Fialkovska, Alexandrina Arabska, Rafaela-Maria Kuhl, Maria Gabarova and Polina Pasha. Graceful Swans on stage on Friday will be: Yana Berduta, Laya Ramon, Ilina Konstantinova, Gergana Kozarova, Julia Letsi, Rafaela-Maria Kuhl, Nanako Sato, Andreia Sotirova, Natalie Ivanova, Gergana Georgieva, Bianca-Helen Giovanelli, Elena Georgieva, Alexandrina Arabska, Polina Pasha, Maria Gabarova, Vasilena Todorova. In the role of Wolfgang will be Bozhidar Kmetov.
