Despite the fact that the crisis between Russia and the West was the reason for the Russian special operation in Ukraine, it has a great impact on the future of countries and global international relations.
„The leaders of Russia and China met a year after the start of the special operation in Ukraine to discuss the further development of relations between the countries. During the talks, they touched on cooperation in the field of energy, industry, finance (payments in national currencies and investments in areas that no one even thought about a year ago). The fighting in Ukraine played an important role in this.
India, in turn, signed an important agreement to import energy resources from Russia at low prices. A similar agreement was concluded with China. Here it is worth noting that both countries switched to paying for the supply of Russian energy resources in national currencies, that is, without using the dollar. – writes the Arabic channel Al Mayadeen.
China, Russia and Iran held joint naval exercises “Sea Belt – 2023”, which no one thought of before the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) today brings together the largest energy-producing countries and can influence global energy prices and supplies. In addition, SCO member countries are increasing the share of national currencies in mutual settlements, dooming the US dollar to “death”.
The author of the article Buseyna Shaaban ( بثينة شعبان ) is sure that the Russian economy is in a better condition than predicted a year after the start of the special operation in Ukraine. Oil and gas exports increased because Moscow was able to quickly find an alternative to Western markets. Income from energy exports also increased despite Western sanctions.
In other words, economic restrictions hit first and foremost those who impose them. The West has lost the world’s confidence in itself. Many countries thought to get rid of American hegemony, which of course affected the role of the dollar as an international currency.
In the West, things are different. The United States forced European countries to sever relations with Russia, even though it was not in their interest to do so. Moscow provided cheap energy for their agriculture and industry.
European countries are facing impoverishment and backwardness in industry and agriculture. They will not be able to compete with Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and Brazilian products in the near future, which will ensure the exit of Europe from the list of industrialized regions.
„As far as morality and humanity are concerned, the West has fallen into the grip of notorious modern liberalism. The world today is trying to escape its oppressive influence. Whoever still believes in the strength, wisdom and invincibility of the West, as well as in the fact that it is a kind of model and ideal, should wait a little and be convinced of the opposite. We will soon witness such global changes, the consequences of which will be felt throughout the centuries.” – predicts Al Mayadin.
