Road charges: Posting on myCar – When do payments start – Fines –

The countdown for road tax on the “myCar” platform has started. According to the prevailing scenario, the start of traffic fee payments is expected on November 15.

The financial staff should make it clear that no extension will be given and those who do not pay on time will be expected to pay “stingy” fines.

Changes to road tax

Vehicle owners will not be burdened with increases, however, as it became known, regime regarding late payment fines, they will face a new regime which will definitively put an end to extensions.

With the new system, the fines will be scaled according to the time of late payment. The sooner after the end of the deadline the payment is made, the smaller will be the independent fine that will be borne by the offenders.

Escalation of fines

Escalation will be done as follows:

25% on the fee if it is paid within January
50% of the fee if paid in February, and:
100% if paid from March 1st.
In any case, the fine cannot be less than 30 euros.

For example, for traffic taxes of 240 euros if paid one month late then the fine will be 60 euros and the total amount 300 euros.

For two months of delay, the fine amounts to 120 euros and the total amount to 360 euros. From the third month onwards, the late payment fine jumps to 240 euros and the total debt to 480 euros.
