Quite a bang in the second season. Handball-Bundesliga!
The Eulen Ludwigshafen, currently sixth in the fight for promotion places, will lose their boss at the end of the year. Managing director Lisa Heßler (35) has decided not to extend her contract and to end her work for Handball-Bundesliga GmbH on December 31, 2024.

According to the club, after eight and a half years in charge of the Owls, she is retiring at her own request and would like to devote herself to new professional challenges.

“The last eight and a half years have given us an exciting and enriching time in which we have overcome major challenges as a club. We were happy about important successes on and off the field,” says Lisa Heßler. “Differing views on the management and further development of the club led me, after careful consideration, to make the decision to reorient myself professionally, even if it is still unclear where the journey will lead from January.”

She continues: “This is certainly not easy for me. For me, the interest of the club has always been and will always be in the foreground. In the past, in the present and in the future I can only implement and represent my actions with maximum conviction. I will continue to be emotionally connected to the club and wish everyone who continues to be responsible and shape the path that the goals set will be achieved. I am proud of and grateful for what we have achieved in our time together, and I would like to thank our partners, the shareholders, the economic council, the team and everyone who accompanied us.”

A statement from the club shareholders said: “Lisa Heßler has done successful work in recent years. Under her leadership, the club was able to achieve numerous sporting, structural and economic progress. The club regrets his departure but respects the decision. We would like to thank Lisa Heßler for her tireless commitment and outstanding service to our club. She has significantly determined the fortunes operationally and strategically, internally and externally, in all areas of partner network, finance, sport, personnel, infrastructure, club cooperation, organization and social commitment.”
The successor is currently still open.
