The Bavarian Police – Media information from the Munich Police from November 6th, 2024

1774. Drunk drivingPutzbrunn

On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, around 8:50 p.m., the police were informed by a witness that a damaged VW car was on the island of the roundabout between the B471 and state road 2079. The police patrol was able to find a 31-year-old resident in the Ebersberg district in a car, a VW, in a parking bay near the roundabout.

According to the current status, the course of the accident could be reconstructed as follows. The 31-year-old was driving a car on the B471 from Haar towards Putzbrunn. At the roundabout to state highway 2079, he drove straight ahead over the green island of the roundabout, which was planted with trees and bushes. The 31-year-old then took the exit to Putzbrunn and turned around. He ran over a traffic sign on a central island.

The driver drove his VW again over the island of the roundabout, then over an adjacent green strip and across a field. He drove over another traffic sign and a road bumper and collided with various bushes. Finally he drove forward onto the main island, where he stopped briefly. From there, he backed off the island and parked the vehicle in a side bay on State Route 2079.

The 31-year-old was found to be under the influence of alcohol. A blood sample was then ordered and the driver’s license was confiscated. He was charged with endangering traffic due to alcohol.

There was material damage to the vehicle amounting to several thousand euros and to the traffic signs there was material damage amounting to several hundred euros. The damage to the land has not yet been quantified.

The Munich traffic police have taken over the further investigation.

1775. Politically motivated damage to property – Giesing

In the period between Friday, November 1st, 2024, 00:00 a.m., to Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, 2:00 p.m., large-scale graffiti was applied to a building in Giesing by one or more unknown perpetrators. These are lettering with anti-police content that were applied to an external facade at the level of the fourth and fifth floors.

The police were contacted by the building’s caretaker. The material damage amounts to tens of thousands of euros.

Criminal Investigation Department 4 has taken over the further investigation.

1776. Larger police operation – Obergiesing

On Monday, November 4th, 2024, around 10:00 a.m., a witness said that a 33-year-old living in Munich had announced a crime.

After consultation with the Munich I public prosecutor’s office, a search warrant was issued for the 33-year-old’s apartment. Special police forces and a service dog were able to locate and secure various unlicensed weapons and associated ammunition during the search.

The 33-year-old was taken to a police station and released after all police measures had been completed. He is now being investigated for disturbing the public peace by threatening to commit crimes.

Commissariat 26 has taken over the further investigation.

1777. Burglary in kiosk; Arrest of a suspect – Neuperlach

On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, around 2:00 a.m., the owner of a kiosk in Perlach was able to observe via his video surveillance on his cell phone how a masked perpetrator tried to break into the kiosk by force. He then immediately called the police emergency number 110.

During the search measures that were immediately initiated, the suspect, a 51-year-old living in Munich, was found nearby by police and arrested. He had burglary tools with him.

The kiosk suffered material damage amounting to a few hundred euros.

After the necessary police measures, the 51-year-old was released after consultation with the public prosecutor. He is now being investigated for the attempted burglary.

Further investigations will be conducted by Commissariat 52.
