Freudenberg. On Sunday, TSV Oberfischbach once again held its annual badminton tournament, the “Flecker Pumpkin Cup 2024”. The hobby tournament is still very popular, many players from previous years registered again and were joined by a few new participants. The family and sportingly fair atmosphere is the basis for a successful tournament year after year.
The tournament started at 9 a.m. with a total of 13 men’s doubles and twelve mixed pairs. After a group phase in the Swiss system with six rounds and a subsequent knockout phase of the first four pairings in each discipline, the following pairings were able to place successfully:
Mixed:
1. Platz: Betty Bach / Lars Gieseler (TSV Oberfischbach)
2nd place: Katharina Schmenn / Benjamin Schneider (TV Freudenberg)
3rd place: Katharina Kaste / Ralf Schneider (1. FC Dautenbach)
Men’s doubles:
1st place: Alok Vermer / Devasish Kar (HTG Bad Homburg)
2nd place: Ankur Sharma / Radesh Narayanan (HTG Bad Homburg)
3rd place: Alexander Dause / Christoph Rosenthal (TV Freudenberg)
