Scientists present biotechnology research in agriculture at an international congress in Sofia (Program) – 2024-11-06 11:07:00


The IV International Congress on Green Biotechnologies will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on November 7 and 8, 2024 at the Expo Hotel. The theme of the congress is “Biotechnologies for agricultural sustainability in the era of climate change”.

The Congress will open a discussion on the prospects of green technologies for the development of sustainable climate-resilient agriculture. The congress will be hosted by the Agricultural Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria. The congress program will focus on the following thematic areas:

  • Plant genomics, proteomics and metabolomics
  • Precision plant breeding – marker assisted selection, genome editing techniques, plant phenomenology
  • Plant cell and tissue culture
  • Beneficial soil microbiomes, phytoremediation, biotechnological tools for managing soil fertility, plant growth and plant health
  • Circular bioeconomy
