/ world today news/ The Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense are preparing for a national protest as a sign of disagreement with the planned pension reform.
This was announced in Varna by Zlatko Kuzmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him, the pension reform does not correspond to the realities in both departments. The protest will take place on June 12 and 13.
We are not opposed to the idea of introducing a minimum age, as this is clearly imperative. The problem is that this age was introduced suddenly and with great amplitude. With us, the change already exceeds 16 years for the last 7-8.
In our country, men and women have long been equal in terms of retirement age. This increase should be smoother and be in line with the realities of the Ministry of the Interior. The Ministry of the Interior is not prepared for 55-year-old employees. There are no activities that can be performed by such employees in such a functional state. They will be redundant as employees, Kuzmanov explained.
In our maritime capital, the 6th charity campaign was held to raise funds for the children and families of dead or disabled employees from the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Defense. The patron of the campaign is Metropolitan John of Varna and Veliko Preslav, BNR reported.
