The National Education psychologist specializing in education, development and advice in educational and professional guidance (Psy-EN EDCO) works both in an information and guidance center (CIO) and in educational establishments (colleges, high schools, EREA) which fall under the IOC sector. Its missions are as follows:
-Individual interviews with students and their families and support in their orientation process,
-Organization or participation in group sessions (workshops, etc.)
-Contribution to the care of students with special educational needs: carrying out psychological assessments, participation in educational and monitoring teams
-Contribution to the care of dropout students,
-Technical advice to school heads and teaching teams on procedures related to orientation and assignment,
-Relaying information to students, families and teaching teams on pre-baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate orientation and assignment procedures
-Analysis of indicators relating to the orientation and assignment of students within establishments
-Participation in the reflection and development of the orientation component of the project of the educational establishment where it intervenes.
– Expertise in taking into account the specific issues of adolescence and in contributing to school and university success.
– Contribution to collective reflection in its CIO exercise on orientation and assignment.
