The UANL Tigres defeated Pachuca 2-1 and strengthened their chances of advancing to the Mexican soccer league by placing third in the general table.

Atlas, led by Beñat San José, returned home after a scoreless draw on their visit to León. The red and black team came into the game ninth in the table above América and without winning at home since matchday seven when they beat Pachuca.
