Along with Cleveland, Oklahoma City is the only other undefeated team entering the 2024-25 season. And not only are the Thunder undefeated, but they are rolling over their opponents in historic fashion.
Seven matches, seven victories, seven successes with at least 12 points difference.
Oklahoma City’s start to the season isn’t just scary, it’s downright historic. Never has an NBA team won its first seven games of the season with a margin of at least ten points in each game.

The Thunder’s results at the start of the season:
- Victory in Denver, +15 (102-87)
- Victory in Chicago, +19 (114-95)
- Victory against Atlanta, +24 (128-104)
- Victory against San Antonio, +12 (105-93)
- Victory in Portland, +23 (137-114)
- Victory at Los Angeles Clippers, +13 (105-92)
- Victory against Orlando, +16 (102-86)
Certainly, the Thunder did not have the most difficult schedule in the world at the start of the season, beating only teams with a negative record outside of Denver (which is not reassuring), as well as a Magic team deprived of Paolo Banchero.
But then the impression of domination and ease left by OKC, phew!
From the first match in Denver, the Thunder showed that they were not there to laugh, stifling Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets on the land of the 2023 NBA champion. Since then, it has been going on, with an absolutely monstrous defense (93.8 points conceded per 100 possessions, 1st in the NBA) and this ability to step on the accelerator at any time to change a game. When thunder starts to rumble, there’s not much you can do. Perhaps even more impressive: OKC dismantles everyone without its $87 million recruit Isaiah Hartenstein, and with barely average offensive skill (46% shooting, 34% from 3-points).
The second youngest team in the NBA (after San Antonio), the Thunder seem destined to dominate the Western Conference during – at least – the regular season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his buddies can send a new message in the next ten days, with games against contenders like Denver, Houston, Golden State, Clippers, New Orleans, Phoenix and Dallas.
