Free vaccination against rabies for dogs and cats at the Deán Funes Neighborhood Center and at Las Heras-Elisa Park < Municipality of Córdoba

• The activity at the neighborhood center will take place this Wednesday from 2 to 6 pm and next Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm it will be in “Las Heras”.
• On both dates the vaccinations will be free and will be given before arrival.

The Municipality of Córdoba invites all residents to participate in the new campaign against rabies that will take place on Wednesday, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Deán Funes Neighborhood Center located at 5220 Darragueira Street.

The same thing will happen next Saturday the 9th, at Las Heras-Elisa Park from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, when the animals will be vaccinated together with the Garra Foundation and the veterinarians of the family doctors.

The activity is carried out through the Directorate of Domestic Fauna of the entity BioCórdoba together with the Zoonosis Institute of the Department.

At all times, dogs and cats that are older than 4 months old and that have been one year since the last vaccination can receive the vaccine and the females must not be pregnant.

Dogs must be led and on a leash and those that may be dangerous must be left out of the house.

In the case of cats, they must be kept in a mesh bag, carrier or kennel.

If possible, the person responsible for the pet must show up with the health card to confirm the date of the last vaccination boost.

If he is not the first person to own the pet, a rabies vaccination certificate must be requested. If there is no such document, it must be verified by the animal’s veterinarian about its vaccination.

Rabies is a zoonosis of viral origin (Rhabdovirus) that affects the central nervous system (CNS) of all mammalian species, including humans. Once clinical symptoms appear, rabies is fatal in most cases, both for animals and humans.
