2nd International Conference: Crack Consumption in Cities

Crack consumption is now spreading massively in many large cities in Germany. On November 20, 2024, an international conference at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS) will take a look at the effects of this development. The conference is hosted by the Frankfurt Institute for Addiction Research (ISFF) at the Frankfurt UAS in cooperation with the Federal Association for Accepting Drug Work and Humane Drug Policy. eV organized. Under the title “Crack Consumption in Cities – Challenges for Users, Municipalities, Drug Help, Medicine/Psychiatry”, the event refers to and is aimed at current developments and problems, such as the increasing impoverishment of the scene and the lack of or incomplete psychiatric care for users to representatives of drug aid and cities as well as researchers, those affected and the police.

What makes the drug so attractive and at the same time so risky for users? Are there any new experiences with medication? These are two of the questions that participants will discuss. The event is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Health, the drug department of the city of Frankfurt am Main and the addiction and addiction prevention officer in the department for social affairs and integration of the state capital Hanover.

Participation in the conference is free of charge. Registration is required and possible until November 18, 2024. Information on registration and the current conference program can be found at: www.akcept.eu/aktuelles/veranstaltungen.
