Bryce Young rallied the Carolina Panthers in a 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
In the loss, Saints quarterback Derek Carr made ignominious history. The loss was the first of Carr’s career in a game against Carolina. And Carr is now the first quarterback in NFL history to lose to 31 different teams.
The only team you didn’t lose to? A Las Vegas Raiders team he played nine seasons with before joining the Saints in 2023. He will have a chance to finish clean in 32nd place when the Saints host the Raiders on Dec. 29.
Sunday’s defeat was the latest setback in a Saints season that has collapsed from a 2-0 start. The Saints shocked the NFL in the first two weeks of the season, scoring a league-high 91 points in blowout victories over the Panthers and Dallas Cowboys.

Since then, they have lost seven straight games to finish at 2-7. They are now tied for the worst record in the NFL and share last place in the NFC South standings with a Panthers team that previously benched Young only to see him regain his spot in the lineup and lead a victory over the Saints on Sunday .
It was tough for Carr too after that torrid start. He missed three games with an oblique strain suffered in Week 5 before returning to the Saints’ lineup Sunday only to lose to the Panthers.
The Saints will look to get back to winning ways next week in another division game against the Atlanta Falcons.
