The Hockey Club Lugano would like to update the situation regarding the rehabilitation process and the return to competitions of the currently injured players.
Joren Van Pottelberghe he underwent surgery to reduce and stabilize the fractures in his foot and ankle and began the rehabilitation process with the HCL medical staff. The expected recovery time for resuming competitive activity is approximately four months.
Giovanni Morini rehabilitation continues after surgery for the femur fracture. In recent weeks he has also resumed individual training on the ice. In about six weeks he will undergo a new specialist check-up where the possible resumption of training with the team will be decided.
Calvin Thürkauf he has made significant progress and in these days he will begin training individually on the ice. In about three weeks he will be subjected to new instrumental tests to define the program for his return to the team.
Santeri Alatalowho has been struggling with muscle problems in recent weeks, will be back available after the break dedicated to the national teams.
In consideration of the situation, in particular the long-term absence of Van Pottelberghe and the indefinite absence of Morini, the HCL has signed an agreement valid until 01.31.2025 with the goalkeeper Dominic Nyffeler (born 1992), already used in the third half of Kloten’s last match and an “Entry Level” contract until 04.30.2026 with Flames Reichle. The 21-year-old striker, so far on loan from Bienne, will be available to both the first team and the technical staff of the U20 Elit.
