After many years of service and work for the Church, Joacintius went to the Lord. His death was a sad event for all who knew him, but it wasn’t long until miracles began to be reported around his memory.

Church holiday November 4 – commemoration day of the holy martyrs Nikander and Hermeus

They were Christian saints and martyrs who lived in the 3rd century during the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire. They are considered a symbol of faith and devotion to Christ, because they went through great suffering for their faith.

Nikander and Ermey were zealous Christians and may have been in the army. They chose the path to serving God and diligently followed his commandments, despite difficult circumstances. Their faith became very important to them, and they practiced it openly, even at the risk of being caught.

Nikander and Ermey not only saw Christian virtues themselves, but also actively preached Christian teachings. Because of their actions and their refusal to worship pagan gods, they were captured by the Roman authorities on the orders of the local governor. They tried to make them abandon their religion and make sacrifices to the Roman gods. During interrogation and torture, they remained steadfast in their faith. They were subjected to severe trials, but not one of them abandoned their faith, refusing to follow the orders of the authorities.

In the end, for refusing to reject Christianity, Nikander and Ermey were sent to martyrdom. It is believed that they accepted death with prayer and hope of resurrection and eternal life.
