PASOK: “The communication show Rama is offensive to our country” –

Insulting to a very large part of the history of Northern Epirus and our country, the “new communication performance of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama in Thessaloniki”, as he called it, the press representative of the PASoK, Kostas Tsoukalas.

“We had a new communication performance by Mr. Rama in Thessaloniki, which was on the one hand offensive to a very large part of the history of Northern Epirus and our country and on the other hand shows that there is a very negative development, with the responsibility of New Democracy, in the relations us with the neighboring country” said Mr. Tsoukalas and added. “And, of course, we saw a leak of the ministry’s circles, we did not see a relevant announcement that put the said issues into practice. Mr. Pleuris puts them, as we heard here on our television panel. The government officially did not raise them”, stressing that “we would like a clearer condemnation” and not “some leaks”.

“We also agree, obviously, that the path of Albania’s integration into the European Union must go through respect for the rights of the minority, the property of these people and sovereign rights,” he noted.

The visit of Fidan

“Regarding the visit of Mr. Fidan, we have said that we are with the national line. What is the national line? Ice shelf and EEZ are the only ones we are discussing. I can’t find what has changed compared to the past. 64 exploratory contacts have been made in previous years. I don’t see anything has changed until today. Turkey continues to raise issues regarding the “Blue Homeland” and regarding the Turkish-Libyan pact which we have condemned. We don’t think there is currently the ground for anything better. I wish Turkey would say it agrees to a Hague pledge on our one and only difference. If now, however, issues such as the Turkish theories on “gray zones”, air space and territorial waters are brought up, obviously we consider them to be red lines. We appreciate that this is also the expressed position of the government, we believe that it should stick to it and there should not be any other agenda, let’s proceed in these contexts”, pointed out the press representative of PaSoK.
