70% Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Gen 2 Detachable Review
Source: PC Mag EN→FR
The ThinkPad X12 Gen 2 Detachable will satisfy businesses seeking a highly portable Windows tablet to replace a laptop. Its detachable keyboard and digital pen are top-notch, and its 12.3-inch screen provides ample working space. Additionally, the tablet includes business-friendly features such as Intel vPro and WWAN connectivity. While the Dell Latitude 7350 Detachable remains our top recommendation due to its superior performance and exceptionally long battery life, the ThinkPad’s lower price, especially with included accessories, makes it a worthy alternative.

Intel Graphics 4-Core: Integrated graphics card based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). Provides 4 Xe cores (64 Xe vector engines) and 4 ray tracing units.
These cards should be able to run all of today’s games, but most of them only at medium or low detail and low resolutions. Older games or less demanding games remain playable with beautiful graphics.

Ultra 5 134U: Mid-range chip from the Meteor Lake family which debuted in December 2023. This 1st generation Core Ultra processor replaced the 13th generation Core processors; it has 12 cores (2 + 8 + 2) and 14 threads. Its Performance cores, 2 in number, run up to 4.4 GHz while its Efficient cores, 10 in number (8 main cores plus 2 additional found in the Low Power Island) run up to 3.6 GHz. The freshly baked 4-core Intel Arc Graphics serves as an integrated graphics adapter – it runs up to 1.75GHz – and a host of other new technologies are also on offer, such as NPU AI Boost integrated with dual Gen 3 engines for hardware acceleration of AI workloads. The base power consumption of this laptop processor is 9W, with Intel’s maximum recommended consumption for the Turbo being 30W.

12.30″: For a tablet, this screen diagonal is relatively large. Conversely, it is a small screen for ultraportables. Some convertibles also have monitors of this size.
A larger screen allows for higher resolutions, details such as the fineness of the letters will be better. However, a smaller screen size means lower power consumption and often a more compact, lighter and more affordable device.
>> To learn a little more about the fineness of the pixels on the screen, take a look at our list of DPI (DPI, dots per inch).
1.1 kg: Large tablets, small ultraportables, ultrabooks and 10 to 11 inch convertibles usually display this weight on the scale.
Lenovo: Lenovo (“The” from the English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. In 2004, the company was the largest notebook computer manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM’s PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktop computers and laptops, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc., and specializes in the development, manufacturing and marketing of consumer electronics, personal computers, software, business solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in computer sales worldwide. It still held it in 2023 with around 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was acquired, giving Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
70%: The rating is bad. Most laptops are better rated. We do not recommend this purchase.
