The public prosecutor of Avellino Domenico Airoma will be a guest of the Diocese in Macerata on Thursday 7 November for the meeting The lawyer’s Dodecalogue. The appointment is scheduled for 6pm in the Cathedral of Saints John the Baptist and the Evangelist and is inspired by the document on the twelve rules of the legal profession drawn up by the great missionary Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori in the 18th century.

Domenico Airoma served as deputy prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples, where he was assigned to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate and was a judge at the Court of Naples, where he carried out the functions of president of a specialized criminal college, among other things , for crimes relating to organized crime.

On behalf of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, he carried out numerous missions in the context of legal assistance projects for police bodies, judges and prosecutors in the countries of the Western Balkans and Central Asia. He holds teaching positions at the Higher School of the Magistracy and is vice president of the Rosario Livatino Study Center, on whose behalf he participates in training meetings in schools, universities and professional associations. His recent renunciation of a position in the CSM (he had been auditioned with other candidates and, given his CV, was considered one of the most accredited choices) to remain at the Avellino Prosecutor’s Office.

At the end of the appointment, the bishop of Macerata Nazzareno Marconi will celebrate the Holy Mass dedicated to jurists and in memory of the deceased magistrates and lawyers of the Macerata Court.

The event is promoted by the Diocese and the Bar Association of Macerata in collaboration with the Rosario Livatino Study Center. Participants registered with the Bar Association will be assigned 1 training credit in ethical matters.
