BOK signed a memorandum of cooperation with Russia –

/ world today news/ The National Olympic Committees of Bulgaria and Russia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement became a fact this morning in one of the halls of the Fairmont Hotel in Baku.

The contract was signed by Stefka Kostadinova, president of the BOK, and by the president of the NOC of Russia Alexander Zhukov. The cooperation clauses create much greater opportunities for the exchange of athletes, coaches and scientific personnel between the two countries. The organization of joint preparatory camps, seminars, educational initiatives and events in the field of Olympism is also planned.

During the ceremony, Stefka Kostadinova expressed hope that the agreement will help the contacts between the sports specialists of the two nations to be of mutual benefit. “For us, the fact that the BOC is signing a contract with one of the most influential Olympic committees in the world is extremely important,” said Kostadinova.

For his part, Alexander Zhukov said that cooperation with Bulgaria gives new prospects for the exchange of experience and for partnership with a traditionally strong nation in sports, such as Bulgaria. We always have something to learn and share with each other in the field of sports,” said the president of the Russian Olympic Committee.

After the ceremony, the two presidents talked privately for half an hour. Zhukov is one of four IOC members for Russia and is among the most influential people in the Olympic movement. The 59-year-old member of the Russian Duma stated at the end of the ceremony that he has great respect for Bulgaria and personally for the president of BOK Stefka Kostadinova. The general secretary of BOK Belcho Goranov was also present at the event.

The two sides exchanged gifts. On behalf of the BOC, Stefka Kostadinova presented Zhukov with a deluxe edition of the book “Olympic Glory of Bulgaria”, a commemorative medal and a philatelic set dedicated to Baku 2015, and the Russians donated an elegant coffee and tea service.
