First blood! Ukraine drove out Kim Jong-un’s soldiers – 2024-11-04 08:06:00

The first batch of North Korean soldiers stationed in Russia’s Kursk region as auxiliaries to Moscow have come under Ukrainian fire. This was announced by the Council for National Security and Defense of Ukraine, quoted by Ukrinform.

About 8,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to Russia’s Kursk region to take part in the war against Ukraine, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on October 31.

The Russian border region has seen heavy fighting since Ukraine launched an offensive in early August. Moscow has deployed North Korean troops to the Kursk region to bolster defenses there as its most experienced units continue to advance into eastern Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that if Ukraine had permission to use long-range Western weapons on Russian territory, it could preemptively target “every camp” in Russia where North Korean troops are gathering.

Kyiv has warned that the combat deployment of North Korean troops is a matter of days. Ukraine believes that Russia will use 12,000 North Korean soldiers to join its war, including special forces. According to Zelensky, Russia has confirmed to the West the participation of Pyongyang’s forces in the war.
