The Admiral of Collège Jean-de-la-Mennais M18 won a tournament in Syracuse

The Admiral of Collège Jean-de-la-Mennais U18 participated in a OneHockey tournament in Syracuse, New York, last weekend. A challenge met brilliantly, since the team won absolutely all of its matches en route to victory in the grand final against the Watertown Wolves.

The team had a flawless run with victories of 6-0, 4-1, 2-1 and ultimately 3-1 in the final on Sunday.

Nathan-Lucas Beaudet and Mattis Germain tied for the team’s lead in scoring, with four points in as many games. Alexandre D’Aoust scored the winning goal in the final against Watertown.

Martin Locat, head coach of the team, praised the performance of his players:

“We have adapted to the American game, where tolerance is not the same. We didn’t let ourselves be physically taxed and worked hard to win our one-on-one battles. The guys gave everything. It was a team victory. Everyone worked hard to get this tournament. »

In addition to his performances on the ice, the Admiral had the chance to compete against teams from elsewhere in an inspiring setting and atmosphere.

“We participated in this tournament above all to offer a great experience to the young people, and I believe that it is mission accomplished. In addition to the tournament, the guys attended a Syracuse Crunch game during their stay,” explained Marc-André Baril, director of the hockey program.

Next week, the Admiral’s U15 team will participate in a tournament in Danbury, Connecticut, while the U18s will have the opportunity to enjoy another tournament experience in Quebec in January.

Congratulations to the Admiral!
