Bezvavlasy, a Czech company focused on the distribution of professional hair cosmetics, continues to expand its range in European markets. This year, it entered the Romanian market by launching an e-shop and by acquiring the Czech e-shop Cosmo.cz, expanding its portfolio with more than a thousand perfumes.

In December, the company plans to expand to Croatia, where it is finalizing its market entry strategy. In the coming years, it aims to enter one or two new markets each year.

For the year 2023, the group achieved sales of 1.05 billion crowns with an EBITDA operating profit of 115 million crowns (margin 11 percent) and a net profit of 79 million crowns (margin 7.5 percent). In 2024, it expects a slight decrease in sales to 1 billion kroner and EBITDA to the extent of 60 to 70 million kroner, mainly due to integration and centralization costs.

The net profit should reach 30 million crowns. The group will publish the forecast for 2025 together with the annual report in the second quarter of next year.

Romania is a strategically important market for us in Eastern Europe. We believe that entering Romania will open up opportunities for us in the surrounding states as well,” said Daniel Horák, CEO of the Bezvavlasy group.

At the same time, the company continues the integration with Hair Servis, which includes the centralization of logistics and the integration of IT systems. The transfer of warehouse operations to the distribution center in Bor u Tachova is currently underway, which should provide more efficient logistics for Czech and foreign markets.

However, this reorganization will bring more costs this year and, according to the company, it will be reflected in the economic results. In the next year, Bezvavlasy expects stable growth and a return to growth.

Micro construction

Acquiring Cosmo.cz was a pilot project with which the company tested procedures for micro-purchasing of certain e-shops. Bezvavlasy is considering smaller, similar acquisitions in other countries to accelerate access to new markets and strengthen the product portfolio.

In the future, the Bezvavlasy group plans to achieve sales of up to three billion crowns and expand its presence to more than ten European markets. To explore these expansion opportunities, Bezvavlasy opened a new pan-European distribution center in Bor u Tachova in 2023, which will enable the supply of other regions.

The company’s shares have been traded on the START market since September 1, 2022 Prague Stock Exchange and on the RM-System exchange. Since they started, their price has increased from 490 to the current 715 crowns. The market value of the group therefore exceeds 960 million kroner.

Bezvavlasy is not the only successful domestic seller of cosmetics and perfumes. The main role on the European scale is still played by the e-shop Noticewhose annual sales are counted in tens of billions of crowns.
