(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 02 NOV – The state road 280 ‘Dei Due Mari’ in the municipal area of Lamezia Terme, in the province of Catanzaro, has been reopened to vehicular traffic, in temporary construction mode. The stretch was closed to traffic last October 21st following the damage suffered by a flood which had caused a chasm into which a passing car had ended up, without consequences for the driver. “The restoration interventions, also carried out at night and in just eleven days – Anas informs in a note – involved in detail the demolition of the road structure damaged by the flood, the reclamation of the bottom land, the removal of the deposits of water coming from the surrounding land, the installation of new prefabricated hydraulic works (crossing box) and the restoration of the road body with the subsequent construction of the new paving”. The works, the company says, will continue outside the road surface to complete the remaining civil and hydraulic works and subsequently reopen the entire section of the roadway. The artery affected by the works is of particular importance because it connects Catanzaro, the regional capital, to the A2 Mediterranean motorway, the Sant’Eufemia railway station and the international airport.
