An emergency Christmas allowance is expected to be given to pensioners and vulnerable groups.
In an interview with SKAI on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that in December there will be emergency aid for pensioners who did not see increases due to a personal dispute.
“Personal difference is the last memorial tax. We have it on the table. It will depend on the course of the economy,” he said.
Who does it concern?
According to information, beneficiaries are:
670,000 pensioners
- Emergency aid: €100 to €200
- Award criteria: Personal difference over €10. Total pensions up to €1,600
767,000 Families with children
- Emergency aid: One additional monthly installment
- Prerequisite: Beneficiaries Household. Allowance (A21)
255.000 DISABLED (OPECA)
- Emergency aid: €200
Uninsured seniors
- Emergency aid: €200
210,000 Beneficiaries Min. Guaranteed Income
- Emergency aid: 50% of monthly allowance
It is noted that no extraordinary allowance was announced for low pensioners
“This aid is welcome, but it is obvious that it is not sufficient,” says labor expert Dimitris Bourlos.
At the same time, the decision of the special court is awaited by the pensioners regarding the retrospectives.
“If in the end it concerns only those who appealed, unfortunately the rest of the accused who did not appeal will be left complaining because they relied on the State’s promises that after a pilot trial is held, its result will be respected and some will be vindicated whether they appealed or not.”
