A local public transport bus hit by a throwing frozen lemons and stones. It happened yesterday evening, around 10.30pm: the target of the vandalism was the “<a href="http://www.world-today-news.com/salerno-more-buses-on-april-25th-and-may-1st/" title="Salerno, more buses on April 25th and May 1st”>Busitalia Campania” line 2 bus, while it was in the Ogliara square in Salerno. The bus left at 10.15pm from Sordina, another hilly hamlet of the Campania provincial capital. The complaint comes from the trade unions who note that, “fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the episode generated a lot of fear among passengers and on-board staff“.
The provincial secretariats of Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uilt, Faisa Cisal and Ugl autoferro express the “firmest condemnation for this serious act of vandalism”, underlining that “the safety of staff and users is an essential necessity, not a cost“. Therefore, they reiterate the need that “preventive and control measures are adopted to avoid the recurrence of similar episodes, ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for everyone“. The unions ask “the competent authorities to intensify controls in the most at-risk areas” and believe that “Busitalia Campania must activate everything within their possibilities to guarantee safety. The protection of staff and users must be an absolute priority“.
