Surprise winners in the “Big Apple”: Chepkirui and Nageeye win the marathon in New York

The Dutch Abdi Nageeye and Sheila Chepkirui from Kenya got amazing victories at the marathon in New York.

Nageeye, a 2021 Olympic silver medalist, sat out the last of the six marathons.Warden of the season on Sunday in 2:07:39 hours. For the 35-year-old, after the third place in 2022, this was the first victory in the “Big Apple” and the first major victory ever.
