Future Péruwelz college: who will do what?

Christelle Durieux (PS) will be entrusted, in addition to the presidency of the CPAS, with skills whose concept is original: the city project and the village and rural project.

“We were able to see during our meetings with our fellow citizens to what extent the questions of the general animation of the city, villages and rural areas were close to their hearts, she indicates. This subject concerns festivities, activities, leisure, tourism, local businesses, associations, heritage, cultural activities. For the coherence of this whole, it had to be made a transversal aldermanic skill.”

Bon-Secours capital of tourism

Jimmy Ababio (PS), first alderman, will manage education, his domain. He will also deal with secularism, the environment, waste policy, public cleanliness, local works, cemeteries, heritage, natural parks and tourism. “With the intention of organizing our beautiful entity into tourist centers of which Bon-Secours will be the capital from which the tourist offer will be available in a structured way towards the city center, the marina and the villages”, Jimmy Ababio explained.

Nathalie Deplus (PS) will regain social skills that she knows well and where, in the opinion of many, she left good memories between 2012 and 2018. She also receives others and will therefore be in charge of the state civil, the social cohesion plan, the advisory council for disabled people, childhood and early childhood. “We also found it useful to add a skill relating to advisory commissions, explains Nathalie Deplus. They have multiplied and are more or less active. We need to make it all more concrete.”

The question of the associative world was central for the Engagés-AC group. “I will therefore be alderman of the associative world, of sport, of villages and rurality, of short circuits and of agriculture. There is a logic which underlies this package, thus assures Simon Renard, just as there is a logic to linking this whole to the more general concept of animation of the city and villages.”

Simon Renard will also manage protocols and room rentals, worship services and church factories.

Still at Engagés-AC, Thierry Depuydt will be responsible for economic development: zoning, commercial dynamics of the center and villages, employment. “It seemed important to us to link the question of employment to that of economic development,” he points out.

Thierry Depuydt will also manage town planning and housing.

Finally, Yanis Detombe (RPP), 20 years old and the youngest alderman of Wapi, will naturally take care of youth but also culture, animal welfare and twinning. “I will also be alderman for inclusion and equal opportunities, subjects at the center of the RPP program.”
