What did the Estonian officials not like about the “white clergy”? A hint of… racism? I must explain.

In the Orthodox Church there is a division between white and black clergy. The white clergy include priests who can marry, and the black clergy include residents of monasteries who have taken a vow of celibacy. Before starting a ministry, priests can start a family, or they can choose the path of celibacy. Black clergy are moving away from theology and abandoning marriage.
