Lando Norris in McLaren took pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Behind him is the Mercedes of George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda with the Racing Bulls. Charles Leclerc was only in sixth place. Qualifying took place on Sunday after being postponed due to heavy rain at the Interlagos circuit and was marked by several breaks.

Precisely because of the weather, the start of the grand prix was brought forward to 4.30 pm Italian time instead of 6 pm.

Many red flags were raised due to the accidents of Franco Colapinto, Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Fernando Alonso, and Alex Albon, fortunately without consequence. Lando Norris took pole with a time of 1:23.405 ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes and Yuki Tsunoda Racing Bulls. Esteban Ocon’s Alpine was fourth, followed by Liam Lawson’s Racing Bulls and Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, sixth. After this, Alex Albon in Williams was seventh, ahead of Oscar Piastri’s McLaren with the Aston Martins of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. Max Verstappen, who was penalized by the red flag shown for Lance Stroll’s crash, was unable to progress and with yesterday’s penalty for not respecting the Delta Time, it starts 17th. Carlos Sainz, who is also involved in an accident, has to overcome the 14th position. Also in the back is Lewis Hamilton, sixteenth place.
