DIJON FAIR: Winners of the inaugural competition “What will we eat tomorrow?”

Foodtech Dijon-Bourgogne-Franche-Comte presented three awards this Thursday, October 31.

DIJON FAIR: Winners of the inaugural competition “What will we eat tomorrow?”On Thursday October 31, 2024, at the Dijon International and Gastronomic Fair, the final of the 2nd edition of the inaugural competition “What will we eat tomorrow?” “. Organized by Foodtech® Dijon Bourgogne-Franche-Comte and supported by Vitagora, in partnership with Terres Univia, the interprofessional association for vegetable oils and proteins, this event awarded three companies an innovative start that will change the food of today.

More than 50 start-ups from all over France submitted their applications, offering innovative solutions to meet today’s food challenges: reducing environmental impact, integrating other proteins, and taking into account consumer expectations of nutrition and health.

Among them, 11 were chosen to present their innovations before a jury made up of competition participants and agri-food professionals, including AER, Bpifrance, Dijon Bourgogne Invest, Dijon métropole, Terres Univia, Scinnov and Vitagoras.

The 11 start-up companies also had the opportunity to present their products and get tastings from visitors to the Dijon International and Gastronomic Fair, in the first two days of the opening: 31 October and 1 November. This special moment allowed them to be in direct contact with users and collect feedback in real time.

The winners of the “What are we eating tomorrow?” “is:

#1 Potibon (Verdun): The first alternative to fat-free butter and margarine made with 80% French vegetables, with a liquid and creamy texture

#2 Maison Maltese (Niedermodern): barley coffee & malt, alternatives to coffee, naturally decaffeinated, healthy and 100% Alsatian.

#3 – Terres Univia Special Award: Les Frimeuses (Paris): spread for a healthy, delicious, fresh and environmentally responsible aperitif, made with lacto-ferment legumes

The three winners were announced at the end of the day and they won: a cash prize of €1,000 for the first one, access to professional resources for their commercial development provided by Vitagora. Finally, the special award presented by Terres Univia, given to the start-up most relevant to the promotion of legume and oilseeds in the territories, supports the selected start-up for strategic use through ToasterLAB, Vitagora accelerator program.
