The initiative ladies from the Zonta Club Burgas launched the “Rada says NO to violence” campaign in the Sea Garden over the weekend. The first symbolic initiative was painting 2 benches in the orange color of the campaign and placing the doll symbol of the initiative.
The “I’m Rada” project is a joint idea of the Zonta clubs in Bulgaria, in partnership with the National Legal Aid Bureau and the financial support of the Bulgarian Women’s Fund.
“Rada” is the symbol of the campaign – an orange doll with a QR code that leads to the “HELP ME” app where victims of domestic violence can find contacts and places of support.
“This QR code will be the link between victims of violence and the Help Desk. Our goal is to turn the Rada doll into a symbol of hope. Let all people sympathize with this campaign, because it makes sense,” urged Nadia Zheleva, president of Zonta Club Burgas, during the campaign.
Yana Gencheva, Governor of District 30 of Zonta International shared that the campaign is also aimed at protecting men who are victims of a certain type of violence.
“Through the QR code, victims of violence can find the places throughout the country where they can get free legal support and psychological help,” shared Diana Ivanova, a member of the Zonta Club Burgas and director of Area 05 of the Zonta clubs that operate on the territory of Bulgaria and Romania.
The Rada doll, posters and stickers will be placed in key public places, the organization said.
Zonta Club Burgas invites all citizens who feel sympathetic to the noble and very important cause for our society, if they meet RADA in their city, to take a picture with her and share the photo on their Facebook profile with the hashtag #АзСамРада. ????
