Papathanasis: “With development we give support to society” –

The meeting of Nikos Papathanasis with blue MPs has ended. The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance was also invited to answer questions from New Democracy MPs.

It is recalled that in the previous period 11 MPs, the so-called blue rebels, had raised questions to the Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis. In fact, Giorgos Vlachos, as he was not satisfied with the minister’s written answer, submitted a topical question again. The two of them in the Plenary Session of the Parliament crossed their swords regarding the economy and more specifically about bad loans.

In his statement in the peristyle of the Parliament, Mr. Papathanasis noted: “I had the opportunity today to present to my colleagues in the Parliament all the financial tools. We had a meaningful conversation. We talked about the Recovery Fund, NSRF 21-27, the National Development Program and mainly we presented Greece’s progress in absorption. Greece is in the first positions in the absorption of the recovery fund and the NSRF and at the same time we are running the largest investment program of the last 14 years.

In total, 13.1 billion will enter the Greek economy, supporting society and businesses. For 2024, with 2.3% we have three times the growth rate of Europe. With development, we support society and businesses, we can create new and better-paid jobs…and this development can be translated into everyday jobs for all Greeks”.

The secretary of the KO of New Democracy, Stavros Kalafatis emphasized for his part: “Another creative and meaningful discussion – contribution of financial tools, to benefit Greek society and especially small and medium-sized enterprises and those who are in need… A series of discussions aimed at the contribution of parliamentarians to the formulation of government policy for the benefit of the citizens”.
