Luca Salvadori, the father accuses: “My son died due to criminally placed barriers”

“The protective barriers outside that curve were criminally set up.” Almost a month after the death of the driver Luca Salvadori on the Frohburg road circuit in Germany, his father Maurizio returns to that tragic day. He does so with a video published on his son’s YouTube channel, bringing up responsibilities and safety measures: “I feel embarrassed invading what was and remains Luca’s field, I’m used to working behind the scenes”, begins Maurizio Salvadori. “They asked me how such an accident was possible. There are no official images other than those from Luca’s motorbike and the motorbikes following him, but I have seen the ones that are there and I feel I have to talk about a delicate topic which is that of safety”, he explains further. “Luca was perfectly aware of the risks. The contact between two motorbikes is a fatality, but I feel like saying that the protection barriers that were set up outside that curve were set up in a criminal way. Therefore this will be my mission. I’m the father who is looking at all costs for someone to blame for his son’s death, but the issue of safety must be brought forward.”

“There are different risks between racing on the track or on the street, but this does not mean that those who organize must do everything possible to guarantee maximum safety. You cannot improvise”, says Salvadori. “My only aim is for tragedies like this to be reduced in the future and for everything to be done to avoid them, which has not been done up to now. I spoke with some pilots who were following Luca and who, after the accident, told me they said they intend to stop. You can play with the lives of pilots animated by sacred and healthy enthusiasm but who rely on completely incompetent organizations.”
