Nordio: “I would like a referendum on the separation of careers”

On the reform for the separation of magistrates’ careers “we have set a timetable, the objective is to complete the double reading by July 2025. I am interested in there being a double reading as soon as possible, then if there is no qualified majority yes it will go to a referendum. Indeed, on a delicate and controversial matter like this I personally believe it is right, indeed I would prefer, that the voters express their opinion and that it is therefore subjected to a referendum”.

The Minister of Justice declared it Carlo Nordiospeaking to journalists in the Chamber, on the sidelines of the vote for the judge of the Constitutional Court. The majority, he added, “is united” on the issue.

The Keeper of the Seals also spoke about the hacker and dossier issue. “We are investing a series of very important sums to create security against hacker attacks – he explained -, in the knowledge that the whole world has been found unprepared in the face of the aggression of hacking, precisely because the bad guys in every sectors, always act and intervene before the State equips itself with the necessary and sufficient regulations to control them, then a moment will come, and for us it is a very close moment in which we will be able to control them completely”.
