A 14-year-old tourist allergic to peanuts dies in Rome

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Italian capital has opened an investigation for manslaughterafter the death of a c14 year old British citizen who visited Rome with his family. During dinner at an establishment in the Roman neighborhood of Gianicolense, near the well-known Trastevere, the young woman apparently ate some food with traces of peanut. According to the parents, their daughter suffered from a severe allergy to that product and in the past had already suffered strong reactions allergic.

Although the parents informed employees restaurant about her daughter’s pathology, some food contained peanuts, which caused her a anaphylactic shock just 15 minutes after leaving the establishment, when the family was heading to their hotel. Investigators do not rule out that the incident occurred due to a confusion with the language.
