World class cricket stadium will soon be built on the grounds of Vikram University: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Ujjain, 1 November (HIST). Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed multipurpose indoor sports complex in Ujjain, the holy city of Lord Mahakal. On this occasion, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made significant progress in the direction of sports. Indian players have won medals in various international games. A new sports culture has emerged due to the development of world class infrastructure in diet, training, education and sports of the players.

He said that sports awakens mutual trust, self-confidence and manliness in life. Prime Minister Modi’s government has made health India’s goal by making sports a part of life. He said that Madhya Pradesh has made sports a part of the curriculum by implementing the new education policy. Now in the state, sports teachers and coaches of players will also be given equal opportunities as teachers.

While addressing the programme, the Chief Minister extended best wishes to all the people of Madhya Pradesh on the 69th Foundation Day. Along with this, he also wished everyone a happy Diwali and Govardhan Puja on the occasion of Deepotsav. He said that Ujjain has a golden history of sports like gymnastics, athletics, basketball, Malkhamb etc. Today, when it comes to Malkhamb game in the country, Ujjain’s name comes first in it. Malkhamb and Gymnastic Academy are also being run in Ujjain. With the said sports complexes, I hope that through this sports complex, the young players of Malwa region will utilize their sports skills to their full potential and bring glory to the country and the state by winning medals at the international and national level.

Dr. Yadav said that under the government of Prime Minister Modi, India has continuously won medals in hockey in the Olympic Games. State hockey player Vikas has also been a part of the medal winning team, he has made the state proud with this achievement. To promote hockey and Dhyanchand competition, he also announced to soon provide the facility of a stadium with astro turf in Ujjain.

He said that Kshirsagar Stadium will also be made a multipurpose complex soon. Along with this, while giving a gift to the district, he said that a world class cricket stadium will soon be built on the grounds of Vikram University.

It is noteworthy that it is the result of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s foresight and inclination towards sports that today a multipurpose sports complex is being inaugurated in the district. This is the second big sports complex of the sports department in the district. The first sports complex of the department is Mahananda Sports Complex, which has indoor and outdoor sports facilities and swimming pool. The newly constructed sports complex has an international level athletic synthetic track and in the same complex there is a multi-purpose sports complex which has facilities like badminton, table tennis, Malkhamb Arena, shooting, football field, lawn tennis court, players lobby for the convenience of the players, etc. A modern gym has also been established. There is seating arrangement for the players as well as spectators. Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Sports Complex is built on approximately 18 acres of land. This sports complex has been constructed at a cost of Rs 11.43 crore.

At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated the sports complex. He visited the campus and also saw the performance of Malkhamb game in Malkhamb Arena. He also enjoyed shooting in the shooting arena on campus. After this the Chief Minister played table tennis with table tennis player Anuj Mishra. Then he discussed with the players of badminton, table tennis and athletics and encouraged them.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) Gautam Tetwal, Rajya Sabha MP Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj, MP Anil Firozia, MLA Anil Jain Kaluhera, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairman Kalavati Yadav, MLA Satish Malviya, Satyanarayan Jatiya, Vivek Joshi, Sanjay Aggarwal, Bahadur Singh were present in the program. Bormundla, Vishal Rajouria, Rajendra Bharti, Roop Pamnani, Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Gupta, ADGP Umesh Joga, Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, SP Pradeep Sharma etc. were present.
