A very respected personality of our maritime capital passed away today.
At the age of 92, the prominent public figure and lawyer Assoc. Masis Berj Hadjolyan, a member of the Writers’ Association – Varna, has left us, the association announced.
Massis Hadjolyan was born on March 16, 1932 in the city of Varna. He is a lawyer by profession (prosecutor, lawyer, teacher, honorary professor of the Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”), one of the few specialists in European law in Bulgaria. Holder of “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” orders – second and first degrees.
Holder of an honorary badge – golden – of the municipality of Varna.
He was on the church board of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Varna, also vice-chairman of the “Yerevan” organization, chairman of the Varna Armenian community, member of the management board and vice-chairman of the Union of Scientists in the city. Subsequently, he was an honorary member of the same union.
He is the author of scientific, local history and art books, as well as a number of textbooks.
The funeral liturgy will take place on November 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Armenian Church of the Central Cemetery Park, Varna.
