Agreement reached between the unions and Akrea to allow the public company that manages waste collection to hire on a fixed-term basis, from next December to January, eight workers from the bankrupt company Akros to strengthen the urban hygiene service in the city during the Christmas period. This is what they ruled two days ago Alberto Padulapresident of the subsidiary which belongs to the Municipality of Crotone, together with the workers’ representatives Salvatore Scicchitano (Fp Cgil), Francesco Aprigliano (Fit Cisl), Fabio Tomaino (Uiltrasporti), Mario Venneri (Fiadel), Antonio Rocco (Flaica United Cub) e Savino Sarcone (Fse Cobas).
In this way, the management of the in-house company accepted the request that had been made by the trade union organizations which, last August, had contested Akrea’s decision to recruit eight workers, again on a fixed-term basis, however resorting to a temporary agency and not to the former Akros basin (which dealt with the separate collection of urban waste throughout the province).
According to CGIL, CISL and UIL, that choice would not have respected the agreement signed on 13 April 2016 between Akrea and the Municipality (and subsequently renewed on 10 April 2019 and 18 November 2022) with the intention of giving priority to staff ex Akros every time the subsidiary decided to strengthen its workforce which today can count on 99 employees, including workers and administrators.
