Glavbolgarstroy is participating in the construction of the important gas pipeline Zlobin-Bosilevo, which will ensure the transportation of gas from the liquefied natural gas plant “Kirk” to countries in the Central and South-Eastern part of the Region Europe.
In October, GBS signed a contract with a consortium led by “Monter-Stroyarska Montage” for the implementation of project activities for the construction of a gas pipeline. The 58 km long section is strategically important and financed by the Croatian national budget. With its implementation, the liquefied natural gas plant in Krk will be able to reach a capacity of 3.5 billion cubic meters. every year.
The floating plant, located in the town of Omisal on the island of Krk, is strategically important for strengthening the European energy market and increasing the security of gas supply for EU countries. It is particularly important for Central and South-Eastern Europe, where efforts to make new and reliable sources of gas are a priority.
The project is part of the EU’s list of initiatives of general interest (PCI) and has received grants in the amount of 101.4 million Euros. Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Zlobin-Bosilevo gas pipeline, located 70 km southwest of Zagreb, will also be converted for hydrogen transport. The construction is necessary for the extension of the Bosilevo – Sisak – Kozarac pipeline, with the aim of increasing the gas transmission capacity to 400,000 m³/h, as well as the extension of the Lučko – Zabok section of Croatia – Slovenia. interconnection, with which it aims to increase gas transmission capacity to Slovenia to 170,000 m³/h. Therefore, the gas pipeline will be able not only to satisfy Croatia’s energy needs in complex conditions, but also to provide an additional supply of blue fuel to Hungary and Slovenia.
