Never two without three. Hugh Bonneville revealed that the third feature film Downton Abbey will indeed be the last. However, fans rejoice: it will also be a vibrant tribute to Maggie Smith.
The British actress, made a Dame by reine Elizabeth II, went out on September 27, at the age of 89. She was obviously able to participate in the filming of this final part of the adventures of the Crawley family in which she played Lady Violet, the Dowager Countess of Grantham.
This third film will therefore mark a conclusion in more than one way, as explained Hugh Bonneville on Virgin Radio.

“We finished a third – and probably final – Downton Abbey film this summer, which will be released next September. This is a kind of wonderful closure to all the stories, a real film for the fans,” confided on the air the interpreter of Lord Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham.
He added: “It’s about saying goodbye to all these characters and obviously we’re saying goodbye to Dame Maggie, which was very poignant on screen and now in real life. She will be greatly missed. But the last film will obviously be a great tribute to his memory. »
