Morocco is preparing to host a series of major football events in the coming years. This was announced by Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister of Budget Delegation, during a session in the House of Representatives dedicated to the 2025 finance bill.
On the program for this busy calendar: the men’s African Cup of Nations in 2025, five editions of the Under-17 Women’s World Cup from 2025, the final of the African Women’s Champions League in 2024, the Women’s Cup of Nations African in 2026, the Futsal World Cup in 2028, the Club World Cup in 2029 and, the icing on the cake, the 2030 World Cup.

To succeed with this ambitious challenge, the minister called for a general movement. “Everyone is asked to create a positive image and contribute to the success of the organization of these great events,” he said.
Fouzi Lekjaa wanted to be confident about the infrastructure necessary to host these competitions. Stadiums, a high-speed train to Agadir, expansion of airports… the projects are “on the way” according to him.
