What happened
They are underway police investigations to understand what happened in the night between yesterday and Wednesday at the Cra “Il Carpine” in Carpi, the scene of a dispute between a resident and an OSS. The military itself interrogated the other operators present at that time in the Cra, who they confirmed hearing the two women arguing. Obviously, the reconstructions of the police will establish what happened and the origin of those bruises on the old woman’s face.
The response from Domus Assistenza
«We are reconstructing what happened – intervenes the social cooperative Domus Assistenza of Modena which manages the residence – In the meantime, the operator was suspended from work and we remain available to the competent authorities to understand what really happened.” It was the CRA staff who alerted the emergency services: «The elderly resident – they explain again from Domus – she said she was mistreated by the operator engaged in personal hygiene operations. She was prudently taken to the nearby emergency room of the Ramazzini hospital, where she was treated and discharged early yesterday afternoon. We have already informed his family members and we are reconstructing the fact to define personal responsibilities – concludes Domus Assistenza – and apply the necessary disciplinary sanctions”.
The words of Mayor Righi
The mayor of Carpi, Riccardo Righi: «I was immediately informed of what had happened and my first reaction was dismay and closeness to the lady and her family. A feeling that I imagine our fellow citizens are also experiencing: we are in fact talking about an episode, the contours of which have yet to be clarified by the investigators, but which involved a fragile person, in a place in Carpi dedicated to treatment. First of all, I made sure of the lady’s condition, and her health situation is not serious. Of course, I can’t even imagine the fear. I spoke with the director of the cooperative, with the director of our Agency for Human Services and with the police: I reiterated to everyone how serious the episode is. As a citizen and son, before being a mayor, I await the outcome of the investigations which will clarify what happened. Only in this way will we be able to make the necessary assessments.”
