At the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” was declared “Awakening Month”, organized by the Department of Pedagogy and the Department of Learning Pedagogy under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Rumiana Papancheva, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The initiative aims to honor Bulgarian pioneers and discuss contemporary challenges in education by engaging teachers, students and pupils.
The official opening of the “Month of Awakeners” took place in the lobby of the Foundation with a solemn ceremony at which wreaths were laid on the bas-relief of Hristo Botev and the monument of Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov. Assoc. Dr. Nadezhda Kaloyanova presented the significance of the two patrons, emphasizing their contribution to Bulgarian education and culture.
Among the first events is the event where schoolchildren and students rewrite “Slavic Bulgarian History”. This activity emphasizes the importance of the Bulgarian language and culture, and the collected materials will be provided to the Museum of Pedagogical Education.
The program includes a round table where teachers and students will discuss the requirements for the modern teacher and the role of innovation in education. This discussion will help exchange ideas and experiences and build a stronger academic community.
There will also be an exhibition on Education and the Visual Arts, which will present various sections related to sustainable games, didactic materials and authored works, providing a unique opportunity for students to see how education can be linked to the visual arts.
A creative meeting “Education and Literature” will give writers-teachers the opportunity to present their works, organized jointly with IC “Stelapro” and Publishing House “Librascorp”.
Within the month, master classes will also be held, led by former graduates of the university, who will share good practices on various topics.
The month of wake-up calls will end with a flashmob of teachers and students, which will close the solemn cycle.
This initiative not only honors the work of Bulgarian revivalists, but also encourages active participation of students in the educational process.
