The Chicago Board of Education will meet one day after the president’s resignation

CHICAGO – A meeting of the Chicago Board of Education was held this past Friday, a day after the president of the board, Rev. Mitchell Johnson, submitted his resignation.

The Reverend was not Johnson took office as president but a week ago before he resigned.

Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago, had appointed Reverend Johnson to that position and asked him to submit his resignation letter. Other public officials, including Governor JB Pritzker, had also called on the Reverend to resign.

What is this because of? All this arose from a series of comments made by Reverend Johnson that were considered anti-Semitic, misogynistic and conspiracy theories about the September 11 attack. These comments have been made in the past and on social networks.

Reverend Mitchell Johnson’s sudden departure adds to the controversy that has been dragging on the Chicago Board of Education. Well, last month, all of the members resigned after allegedly refusing to fire Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martínez.

Martinez disagreed with Mayor Brandon Johnson and refused to take out a $300 million high-interest loan to balance the budget.

Board of Education members are expected to review various resolutions and motions.
