Sunday 3 November, at 9pm, the stage of the Rosetta Jazz Club in Matera will host the “Paul Marinaro 5tet feat. Tom Vaitsas” with the concert entitled “Chicago Serenade: A night of pure Sound”. “After the success achieved during the last Italian tour, – we read in a note – the American singer arrives again at the Rosetta Jazz Club for a live show that will offer a particular journey through time with which it will be possible to experience the typical atmospheres of sung jazz, just like in the golden era of the immense Frank Sinatra. Having become one of the most popular and sought-after singers on the international scene, Marinaro demonstrates a mastery and contagious passion for the material he chooses, a skill that allows him to interact intensely with the public thanks to his interpretations. His prestigious list of awards includes the title of “Best Performance of the Year” (six times) on the Chicago Tribune and the title of “Best of Chicago 2015” on NewCity Magazine. He is currently playing numerous sold-out shows at world-famous venues in Chicago, as well as a national tour and the release of a tribute album to Duke Ellington. On this occasion, the Rosetta Jazz Club will also welcome pianist Tom Vaitsas. An excellent musician, the American began playing in Chicago in 1992 after obtaining a degree in Music from Northern Illinois University. He soon became an in-demand pianist sharing performances with numerous instrumental groups and for singers of different styles. The years 2000 to 2008 were a time of numerous European tours with blues legends Lurie and Carrie Bell, among others. He has also performed with jazz icons, including Von Freeman, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Russell Malone and continues to perform in and around Chicago with various groups. Alongside Paul Marinaro in this stage in Matera, in addition to the pianist Tom Vaitsas, there will be important musicians such as Guido Di Leone on guitar, Giuseppe Venezia on double bass and Giovanni Scasciamacchia on drums.” «We are really happy to welcome a great musician of the caliber of Paul Marinaro, who always comes back to the Rosetta Jazz Club with pleasure. For us it is a source of pride and, therefore, we can’t wait to experience this important evening in which we will miss the usual warmth of our audience”, declares Giuseppe Venezia, president of the Rosetta Jazz Club. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Matera and the entrance ticket costs €15. Reservation is recommended by contacting number 3501660573.
