Is Xbox gambling with Call of Duty in Game Pass?

If you look at sales and player numbers, then of course every release of a Call of Duty game is a huge thing, but this time everything is actually different. According to Activision Blizzard, the brand new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the “biggest Call of Duty in over 10 years” – ohh. Equally impressive is Xbox’s daring step to add the mega shooter brand directly to the Xbox Game Pass catalog at no extra charge, right on release day. Will you now voluntarily hand over a large part of the chocolate-covered COD cake to the main rival Playstation? Or is this Xbox’s first step to slowly and step by step take over the gaming market? Will Playstation die once the ominous deal between Microsoft and Sony expires?

There are a lot of questions about the current state of our beloved gaming industry, so our moderator Maci Naeem Cheema invited two perfect guests to the talk. Editor Toni has published a special on the topic and provides interesting numerical insights and more. Editor Carlo Siebenhüner also brings a lot of Xbox expertise with him. We hope you enjoy our extra-long episode 130 and are really excited to read from you.

20 years of Xbox | Looking back at the first Microsoft console

Let’s discuss: Write us in the comments column how you feel about the situation surrounding Xbox Game Pass and what you think will happen to us in the next few years. Are we exaggerating or do you see just as much danger for large publishers who rely more on the classic full-price system, such as Playstation or Nintendo? We look forward to your comments and join in the discussion!
