After a summer photo session last June, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Amalia and Princess Alexia sat down for a press interview. A conversation with camera journalists, and a conversation with the writing media. Only Princess Ariane was behind and everything had to do with her age.

We received a question from the viewer why Princess Ariane was the only member of the royal family not present at the press conference. The reason? The princess is not yet eighteen years old so she is not yet an adult. So she has no royal duties and responsibilities. That’s why Ariane still doesn’t have to answer questions from the media.

This will change next April, when the princess turns eighteen. From then on, she will be with her two sisters Budget Day and so she will also be at the press interviews. Something that is still interesting to Amalia and Alexia, as it turned out this summer. They told our reporter that the cameras are still scary sometimes, but now they “recognize familiar faces behind the cameras.”
