The trio missed out on Celtic’s 2-0 win over Dundee as the manager takes any opportunity with a packed list of games to come. Speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s game, Brendan Rodgers confirmation that the players would be fit for the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at the weekend.
Adam Idah took a hit after Liam Gordon’s red card challenge at Fir Park but luckily escaped with just a bruise. At the same time, Kühn had stiffness in his hip and the manager did not want to risk the influential attacker by making it worse.
Skipper Malcolm MacGregor missed the win at Fir Park last weekend after picking up tension in his clearance, meaning Brendan had an excuse to give the skipper a well-deserved rest.
Celtic will be hoping to earn their place in the final before switching their focus to RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League. The Germans won at Celtic Park in Ange’s second season and Brendan will be desperate for a result against the Pot 1 side.
Sunday brings the second half of the League Cup to Hampden with the Rangers facing the Mother’s Well. The Ibrox side are in turmoil after the poor accounts were released before they were beaten by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
