Thanksgiving in Canadian: Air Canada celebrates at Zurich Airport

Air Canada celebrated Thanksgiving on Wednesday evening (October 30) with over 100 representatives of the Swiss travel industry. Mehdi Sentissi, Regional Sales Manager Switzerland and North Africa, and Fabio Bühlmann, Sales Account Executive, welcomed the guests in the Le Sablier restaurant in the Circle at Zurich Airport and led them through the festive evening.

The friendship between Air Canada and the Swiss market was celebrated at a flying dinner with delicious appetizers including pumpkin cream soup, poached egg with autumn truffles and guinea fowl breast with wild mushrooms.

Air Canada, which has been present in Zurich for 65 years, is further strengthening its position by modernizing its fleet: the new Boeing 787-10 is expected on the Zurich-Toronto route from 2025. This innovation underlines the airline’s goal of continually expanding its network and service offering.

In addition to stimulating discussions about the current market situation, the upcoming US presidential election was also controversially discussed among the guests – a sign of the tourism industry’s strong connection to global developments.

A special highlight was the Canada quiz, where those present were able to put their knowledge to the test. From Canada’s national sport of lacrosse to the impressive 32 kilometers of the underground tunnel system in Montreal: the quiz covered exciting insider facts.

Rebecca Ziegler from Travelhouse particularly impressed with her knowledge of Canada and ultimately won the two coveted premium economy flight tickets to Toronto. A successful evening that properly celebrated the partnership between Air Canada and the Swiss travel industry.
